The core idea of new curriculum is " For every student’s development". The goal of the new curriculum reform put forward to transform of the course function; course content is in close contact with the life and times; to improve student’s learning skills, advocating self-regulated learning, inquiry-based learning and cooperative learning. The new curriculum emphasizes that teachers should be the facilitators of student learning, the builder and developer of curriculum, stressed the need to respect, admiration, help and guide the students. To improve the quality of geography classroom teaching, to achieve the goal of curriculum reform, we must strive to improve the students’ participation consciousness.This paper is based on the high school geography classroom teaching, with the theories of psychology and education as the basis, through documentary research, survey research, comparative analysis methods, combined with questionnaire survey research during the internship in middle schools, finding out problem of students’ participation awareness in the class, and putting forward preliminary strategies to develop students’ awareness of class participation, need to be further perfected in practice.
