Much research work has been done in Mencius by studying literary value, argument arts and philosophic thinking by our predecessors and yielded many fruits. The Confucian ideas of Chinese education can be viewed as the main ideology of the language education in ancient Chin a in the overall Chinese cultural context. Again, based on inheriting Confucius education thought, Mencius, an eternal classic in Confucianism, develops the originally possessed items with create-veeness. Mencius, as an outstanding Chinese educator in the pre-Qin period., has come forward ingenious language education theories, which enlightened later ages on Chinese language teaching and literature teaching significantly. Thus it is utterly necessary to systematic-cally sort out and analyse Mencius’ ideology of Chinese education from the aspect of Chinese education.Three angles will be approached in this article to excavate thoughts on Chinese education in Mencius. Basic level is observing Mencius’ holistic education roundly from the ontology concept aspect, including his thought of worshipping culture education, ideal of elite education%concept about teachers and study methodologies. On the second level, the article will probe into Mencius’s unique contribution to Chinese teaching from the aspect of the ontology, expound the concept of text interpretation such as "understanding by heart" and "knowing both the author", study the significance and influence of the theory "know the essence of speech nourish the spirit" from the point of reading and writing view and summarize his debating pattern and skills from the perspective of spoken language communication. On the third level, in order to study Mencius from the perspective of developing and utilizing Chinese curriculum resources, firstly, we analyze the necessity of Mencius as resources for Chinese curriculum from the historical longitudinal angle; Next, we analyze the current selection and acceptance of choosing excerpts from Mencius as a part of Chinese teaching materials; And lastly, preceeding from the level of Chinese pedagogy, we propose several suggestions during the process of development and application of Mencius as Chinese curriculum resources.There is a tremendous responsibility involved in unremittingly inheriting and developing Mencius which is one of the Chinese classics. Mencius’ ideology of Chinese education has a great guiding significance for current reading instruction, writing teaching and oral communication. His theory of the moral cultivation and personality, which achieves the3d object goal of New standard, can promotes the formation of correct values and outlook in middle school.
