Teenagers are the future of the motherland, the hope of the nation. The mission ofcarrying out national defense education available to young people not only affects thepossibility of training qualified successors of the socialist cause, but also has a hugeimpact on the rise and decline of the country’s safety as well as the nation’s future.Middle school students are the main body of the young generation and the main forcein the construction of modernization, and the future of national defense force. Activelyand effectively carrying out national defense education for high school students, is acritical history need for the realization of "Chinese dream", and also the inherentrequirements of realizing quality education, the urgent requirement of the presentnational defense education situation.National defense education in accordance with the national integrity to defendterritory and sovereignty, against foreign aggression and subversion is an influentialactivity to impose in the objective requirements of citizen’s morality, intelligence,physique and intelligence. National defense education in schools, referring to usin g theschool as an specialized agency, aimed to cultivate students to become talents with"Four Haves" qualities Senior high schools should take up the role of providingsystematic national defense education for students,enable them to master the necessaryknowledge and skills of national defence.In the meantime,strengthening theirawareness of national defense and national security, enhancing their patriotism,collectivism and revolutionary heroism. In order to investigate the current situation ofthe national defence education and collect opinions and suggestions on nationaldefense education from the students in Changsha high school fully and accurately, theauthor selected three Changsha high schools as research objects, taking the form offield interviews and questionnaire to obtain first-hand information on national defenseeducation, and later introduced the current situation of the national defense educationfrom the aspects of organization management, the content and form of national defenseeducation, evaluation and condition guarantees. By analysing the investigation,problems can be found in educational method which is quite single, and theeducational content,which is simplified,and also the lack of qualified teachingconstruction and poor effects in Changsha high school national defense education. Thecauses and effects of which are also been comprehensively analyzed. Finally,suggestions were putting forward on the improvement of ideological understanding, the perfection of the management system, strict supervision and inspection, innovativeforms of means and consummation of service guarantee.
