Local history refers to the history of a hometown, including the natural rescources,tradition as well as customs etc of a district. Local history is rich in knowledge and it isinstructional. At present, the new curriculum reform is being carried out in the middle school.History Curriculum Standards of Compulsory Education suggests that the local rescources in thehistory should be made full use of. However, the teaching in local history of Linzi District isunsatisfying. Based on these above factors, this thesis mainly talks about the teaching in localhistory of Linzi District so as to give a light on the history curriculum reform in the local district.The thesis is made up of five parts. In the preface, the author gives a brief introduction to thebackground of the research, the purpose,the theory basis of the research as well as the currentresearch in the local history teaching in the middle school at home and abroad.In the firstsection, the author mainly elborates the concept of local history teaching and the signifance ofthe local history teaching in the middle school.The local history teaching plays an important rolein developing students’interest in history study, changing learning style, fufilling the teachinggoals,improving the quality of the teachers as well as promoting the historical culture.In thesecond section,the author introduces the local resources in the history curriculum in LinziDistrict,including texts,material objects,oral forms,personal rescources and informationrescources.In the third section, a survey on the current teaching in local history of Linzi Districtis made in the form of questionnaires.According to the survey, the authors finds out theproblems in the current teaching in local history.Meanwhile, the author analyses the causes ofthe problems and comes up with corresponding solutions. In the last section,the author triesputting forward the teaching forms and some principles of the teaching in local history of LinziDistrict.
