The art of New Year Paintings is an important part of excellent traditional folk art of theChinese nation. However, with continuous development of scientific and technological culture,as well as increasing modernization and diversification of life, New Year Paintings areencountered with unprecedented survival crisis. It has become an obligatory responsibility andmission for school education as how to overcome the crisis and to better inherit these folk arts.Yet, the author found, after investigation and research, that at present the proportion of New YearPaintings education in our art textbooks is very low.As is clearly proposed by “Basic education course reform outline (trial)”, variouscurriculum resources in and around our schools should be positively exploited and reasonablyutilized during development and management of teaching materials. In addition,“Compulsoryeducation of fine arts curriculum standard (2011edition)” also demands that students should beguided to pay attention to the relationship between fine arts and society, to understand work ofart in cultural situation, and to cultivate humanist spirits. Teachers should make full use of localcultural resources, guide students to comprehend the connection between local geography,history, economic, and folk custom, and make appreciation and evaluation be closer to students’life. Under the overall situation that development of school-based curriculum is advocated, manyareas in China bring New Year Paintings into local school-based curriculum construction. Thisarticle starts with concrete teaching practice, introduces the possibility, necessity, and specificimplementing measures of the approach of New Year Paintings to the classroom of art in primaryschool. And the article has a focused analysis of the construction situation of school-basedcurriculum, the New Year Paintings, in primary schools of Hanting district in Weifang citylocated by the author. The aim is to provide effective and feasible opinions and proposals fordevelopment of school-based curriculum, the New Year Paintings, in primary schools and forclassroom education of New Year Paintings.This thesis includes seven parts. The first part is an introduction, which includes raise ofproblem, research status at home and abroad, research purpose and significance, research method,research contents, and innovation points. The second part is about the reason and significance ofthe entrance of New Year Paintings into classroom teaching. The third part is a status analysis of New Year Paintings teaching of art curriculum in primary school from aspects of curriculumcontents, teaching arrangement and teaching method. Then, the fourth part introduces thedevelopment status of New Year Paints as school curriculum. In the fifth part, concrete methodand content of design and teaching of New Year Paintings as school curriculum is deeplyanalyzed, from many aspects like teaching process and method exploration, teaching evaluation,demonstration and communication, and reflection after teaching. Primary schools of Hantingdistrict in Weifang with abundant teaching materials and curriculum of New Year Paintings andoutstanding teaching effects are taken as examples. The sixth part is about problems andreflections encountered with during the teaching. And the last part is about teaching cases.
