The purpose of college education in this century is quality education to improvecollege students overall development,and develop students’ positive emotions,shapestudents’ perfect personality is an important content of quality education. In "emotionaleducation" has attracted many attentions of the society at the same time, the emotionalintelligence which called "EQ" study also caused the great interest and enthusiasm oneducation science and psychology,associated with the emotional intelligence educationresearch therefore carry out so extensive. Emotional intelligence is the main part of students’psychological quality, and the important skills for students to adapt to survive in modernsociety and the competition.Therefore, in school education, attaching the importance andcultivating, training, improve the students’ emotional intelligence, has a very positive andfar-reaching significance.Facing the high-speed development and an increasingly competitive tourism industry,improve the overall quality of tourism practitioners, not only to the healthy sustainabledevelopment of tourism has a very important role, but also poses a challenge to universitiestourism major. This requires each college must rethink tourism professional talentscultivation model, can’t stay in debate about whether tourism professional college studentsneed to practice, but to study how to improve the tourism professional students’comprehensive quality. And EQ education provides a possibility to universities, to cultivatethe tourism market of tourism professionals, especially high quality talented person thetourism professional demand, must be in promoting tourism professional students of solidmastery of the professional knowledge and skills at the same time, improve tourismprofessional college students’ communication and coordination, emotion self-control,resistance to frustration, strain, such as emotional intelligence ability, strengthen theprofessional obtain employment ability,for them on a dominant position in the competition.Based on this, the paper first describes the connotation of EQ, the concept and contentof EQ education, the importance of EQ education to tourism professional college studentsare discussed, and the content of inclusion in the teaching of emotional intelligenceeducation are elaborated; second, adopt the method of questionnaire investigation and dataanalysis on the tourism professional college students’ emotional intelligence currentsituation analysis, find out the problems in college students’ emotional intelligence ability,and the questions of EQ education also analyzed in this paper; third, puts forward some operable and real ascension suggestions and measures targeted to enhance tourismprofessional students’ emotional intelligence level.Through the study of tourism professional college students’ emotional intelligenceeducation in this thesis, hope to make some beneficial exploration and emotionalintelligence can play a good role in promoting tourism professional college students’learning and work, to promote the comprehensive qualities of college students.
