In the21st century, to master the language of mathematics is one of the important st udents’necessary mathematics comprehensive quality. This is also an important index in the evaluation of students’mathematical quality. Set language is the foundation of the mathematical language learning and other mathematical languages in modern mathematics also have been built on the basis of set language. In China, the concept of the new curriculum reform provides education platform for us to study thoroughly. And the concept advocate that we should study the set as a language and make the students express the mathematical object, describe relations using the mathematical set language. To master the set language can express the mathematical object exactly. It can help develop the ability of the students’mathematical thinking and communication a lot. Therefore, we should pay attention to teaching research of the set language of mathematics.The concept of mathematical set is the first concept a student will learn in high school which means the set’s importance. Its idea of number combined with shape provides a powerful tool for students to solve problems. Because of the simple content, some teachers don’t pay more attention to the set concept in teaching. They always weaken the forming process of the set concept. So when, students meet some difficulties in set problems, the students will be puzzled and confused. So it is necessary for us to investigate and analyze the reasons about the students’difficulty in mathematical set knowledge. Only in this way, can we offer effective suggestion and teaching strategy for students to lay a good foundation in learning specific languages.At present, the problems of mathematical set teaching in high schools mainly are:The students can’t understand the concept clearly and don’t pay much attention to the importance of empty set role, etc. This article isin search of the students’problem in learning the mathematical set. And we can find out how to carry out a effective teaching strategy so that the students can use the mathematical set language better. In that way, we can improve the students’ mathematical ability and train their mathematical thinking. Thus the students could have a professional mathematical language foundation.
