With the continuous development of social economy in our country, the number offloating population and structure both have changed greatly. The floating population’s workand life become more stable in the inflow areas, and the trend of family migration has beencontinuously highlighted. The trend of family migration of floating population refers to theprocess of the population’s overall floating from the original habitat to the new settlements. Inthis process, the floating form changes from the flow of individual to the flow of families. Theappearance and development of family migration results from the development of populationfloating at a certain stage. National Population and Family Planning Commission issued“Report on the development of the floating population in China2012”, in which it was pointedout that nowadays the choice of overall migration of floating population occupies nearly70%in total, and with the growing number of children and the elderly, the average household sizeof floating population in flow areas come to2.5persons. The floating population family as awhole flows into the city and makes great contributions for the city’s economic developmentand urbanization construction, at the same time, they seek for their own development in thefierce market competition. But due to various constraints, the floating population families arestill confronted with great pressure of employment, housing, health care, children’s educationand so on, in order to adapt to the life of inflow areas, they have to address the diverse needs oflife and work. The needs of floating population family mainly refer to the needs of the floatingpopulation family in regard to survival and development in the city. This study divides theneeds of the floating population family into survivability demand and development demand, inwhich the survivability requirements include employment training demand, demand forhousing, and medical and health care demand and development needs refer to their children’seducation needs, social participation needs and entertainment needs.This research mainly adopts the method of quantitative analysis, selecting200migrantpopulation families in Jinan as the research objects. According to the current situation of thefloating population family, the research mainly studies their survival and development needsin the process of integrating into the city. Through the research on the needs of the floatingpopulation family, comprehensive analysis of the needs of the floating population families in housing, employment, medical and health care, children education, and social participation,the author finds that a variety of dilemmas appear during the integration of the floatingpopulation families into the city.The present research puts forward the correspondingcountermeasures and suggestions from the perspective of social management to better realizethe integration of urban and rural residents as well as to maintain the city development andeconomic stability.According to the survey, the floating population family is restricted frominstitutional,policies, regulations, economic and concepts factors, thus many requirements offloating population family have not been met, which affects their integration into city life.Thisresearch is not only beneficial to improve the living standards of the floating populationfamily, but also helpful to provide feasibile suggestions for promoting their development incities.The innovation of this study is mainly manifested in the investigation object is the floatingpopulation family. Starting from the floating population family, the study strengthens socialawareness of the floating population family, fully understand the needs of the floatingpopulation family, adapt to the trend of the family, and get close to the real life of this group.
