In2003April the Ministry of Education promulgated "the ordinaryhigh school mathematics curriculum standard (Experiment)". The newcurriculum standard pays more attention to highlight the dominantposition of students, to cultivate students’ consciousness of participation,emotional experience, explore discovery and innovation, fully embodiesthe "student development oriented" concept. In this context, thesituational teaching is to adapt to the new curriculum reform in China is akind of very effective teaching model.The importance function in high school mathematics is allow alldoubt, it is a link between the middle school mathematics, but also themost difficult for students to understand the content, the ordinary highschool mathematics curriculum standards (experimental) pointed out: thefunction is an important mathematical model to describe the objectiveregularity, the high school stage not only function as the dependencyrelationship between variables, to describe function at the same time alsouse the collection language. Functional thinking will run through themathematics curriculum of senior high schools, students will learn theelementary function of exponential function, logarithmic function specific,combined with the actual problem, feel the process and method offunction concept model, and experience the important function inmathematics and other subjects.Firstly, through interviews and questionnaires, to understand theteachers in the function teaching methods, students in the learningfunction; secondly, aiming at the shortcomings in the teaching and theneeds of students with the curriculum goal requires the application ofsituational teaching model in the function teaching; finally, analyze and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the application ofsituational teaching method in the teaching of function in trying toachieve, in the function teaching, with the appropriate situation, lets thestudent development process through the context of the concept offunction, can take the initiative to learn function, positive thinking,improve the learning function of interest, improve the students’ classroomlearning efficiency and achievement of objectives.
