College students as a social concern, carrying families special group of high expectations, the pressure was significantly higher than other age groups, the mental health of college students should not be overlooked, raise the level of psychological education of college students work without delay. On college students’ social adaptability, academic study, interpersonal relationship, physical and mental symptoms.and the analyses results will make contribution to work out the predict degree of college students’ mental health by analyzing their social adaptability. With ways to improve the level of college students’ social adaptability, the paper aims to achieve the purpose of improving college students’ mental health level, to develop college students’good professional accomplishment and psychological quality, strengthen weak links in the psychological health education work, perfect higher education system, eventually improve the whole higher education to a new level.This research adopts questionnaire method, random samples1000college students from four universities as the research object. By holding questionnaire to their university life feeling, and making self-test health rating form as the measuring tool, the author can explore the relationship between social adaptation and mental health so as to offer scientific basis and theoretical guidance to college students’ psychological health education.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1) The overall level of contemporary college students’physical health are higher than mental health, and the overall level of mental health is higher than social health; individual differences in mental health are smallest while in social health are largest and differences in physical health is between the two mentioned above.(2) Physical health, mental health and social health have no significant difference in colleges and native places. But in terms of gender, college female students’ physical health level is higher than males while male students’mental health and social health level are higher than female and what is more, male individual differences are higher than female.(3) College students’ physical and mental adjustment is low; however their academic adjustment is opposite. Individual differences in overall evaluation are the largest and the distribution is the most centralized. However, situations in human relationship are totally opposite. (4) Native places and gender play an obscure difference in the social adaptability. But the school occupies an important position. From school classes, students’ social adaptability is showed as follow; students in technology university> medical comprehensive university> comprehensive university>normal university students.(5) the overall evaluation of college students’ social adaptability, academic study, interpersonal relationship, mental and physical symptoms have an extremely significant positive correlation with factors in mental health form and social health factors; overall evaluation of the social adaptability, interpersonal relationship, physical and mental symptoms and physical health are closely relevant to the social function of "body", and have no relationship with other factors.(6) Social adaptation has significant forecasting effect to physical and mental health. All the variables have strong prediction effects on the mental health, among which interpersonal adaptation has a highest prediction. And overall evaluation has a higher prediction, and physical and mental symptoms and academic study has no obvious effect.
