The Study On School Motto Of High Vocational Colleges In Guangdong Province

The fruits of numerous researches have shown that Chinese scholars are quitekeen on the study of school motto.But few probe into mottos of high vocationalcolleges as their research object. Based on the study of school mottos done byprevious scholars, this paper tries to study the school mottos of high vocationalcolleges in Guangdong province.So far, there are80high vocational colleges of independent institution inGuangdong province. Of these80colleges,51are public colleges and the rest29areprivate.78colleges already have school motto,2of them are still in the process ofchoosing a suitable one.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part is introduction. This part elaborates the definition of highvocational college and school motto. It summarizes the general situation of the studyon school motto of scholars in China. It also introduces the ideas, methods, purposeand the significance of the study.The second part deals with case studies of3public high vocational colleges inGuangdong province. And in the order of the time of their establishment, the writerintroduces the evolution, the establishment and practice of the school mottorespectively.The third part focuses on the case studies of3private high vocational colleges inGuangdong province. The writer introduces the college evolution, the establishmentand practice of the school motto respectively.The fourth part analyses the form and ontent of the school mottos of the78highvocational colleges that are already established.High vocational colleges school mottos in Guangdong province reflect both thedistinct higher educational features like virtue, knowledge and vocational educationfeatures like ability and skill.
