It’s true that the result of writing-teaching in junior middle schools is not so good,not only because of the disorderly offered writing courses and the teachers’ not-enoughattention attached to the teaching modes, but also because of the teachers’ out-of-dateteaching theories. The teachers don’t think it over in an all-round way when planningtheir lessons. They think over the tactics but miss the strategy, for example. In this thesis,the writer tries solve all the problems in a new way: to renewthe teachers’ teaching theories and help them to get out of the way of teaching writingtraditionally. The writer hopes that the teachers can teach writing in a communicativecontext and do in a multi-model, thus the students can write with full motivations,contents and skills.This thesis is divided into four chapters.Chapter1is the “leading-in” section of the research thesis, including: the reasonswhy to do the research; concepts of some terms; new writing modes and their basictheories; and the aims, contents, methods and new opinions of the research. In thischapter, the writer analyses the present problems in writing teaching in junior middleschools and accordingly points out that the teachers should change not only their“teaching methods” but also their “teaching theories”, and then introduces the fourmodels of writing and their basic theories, i.e. story-like writing, activity-record writing,cognitive writing and communicative context writing. In a word, the writer sets forth the wholecircumstances of the research generally in this chapter.Chapter2tells the research on the practice of writing teaching in a communicativecontext in junior middle schools and explains the elements of writing in acommunicative context---the topic, role, reader, purpose, language, etc. The writerbrings forward the ways for practice: topics setting in context, writing with diversifiedpoint of view, staged writing procedures, multi-assessing ways. Meanwhile, somewriting teaching cases are also presented. This chapter is the key section of the thesis,for the writer does the practical research here on the feasibility of writing teaching in acommunicative context in junior middle schools.Chapter3discusses the coordination of writing teaching in a communicativecontext and other writing models extensively, analyzing their basic contents and features, the possibility and ways of coordination, and finally gives some samples of coordinatingcases and some writing pieces of students.Writing teaching is very complicated, related with a variety of elements. There’s ahot discussion on writing in a communicative context in junior middle schools both inand abroad. The writer, presenting some opinions here, just hopes to help pushingforward the research on writing teaching.
