In the traditional teaching mode,the efficiency of interactive teaching system based onteachers-oriented is low. In the new curriculum reform, under the circumstances of theapplication of multimedia technology in classroom teaching, the application of multimediatechnology optimized teaching links, promoted the teaching content, and changed the teachingconcept. This dissertation mainly discusses under the direction of the modern education theory,how to promote the reform in geography teaching and improve the students’ learningefficiency through the application of multimedia technology.This dissertation includes six parts. The introduction part mainly discussed the researchbackground and the research content. This paper is an application research, which studies theapplication of multimedia technology assisting geography teaching by plenty of documentsand finally makes the research orientation of how to use multimedia technology to assistgeography teaching to improve learning efficiency.The second part mainly introduces multimedia technology and its features, such asdiversity, integration, interactivity and real-time performance. It also shows the theoreticalsupport of the application of multimedia technology in teaching and how multimediatechnology reflects the above theoretical basis in teaching practice and combines theory andpractice.The third part expounds the relevant research of learning efficiency. It analyzes thefactors that affected students’ learning efficiency and the useful methods of improving learningefficiency. Teachers should try to tap the students’ intelligence and cultivate the “acquired”nonintellectual factors. Teachers should create better learning atmosphere so that studentscould learn efficiently and cheerfully.The fourth part mostly discusses the main research content of this dissertation. The authoruses some practical teaching cases to analyze the methods of improving learning efficiency bymultimedia technology. Firstly, this paper analyzes the necessity of multimedia technologyassisting geography teaching. Then it presents a few teaching cases to demonstrate how to take advantage of multimedia technology to improve the students’ learning efficiency.The fifth part focuses on the problems of the application of multimedia technology ingeography teaching and gives some reasonable suggestions. Hopefully, multimedia technologywould serve the class teaching perfectly.The last part is conclusion. It points out that multimedia technology is only an teachingaid. Teachers should hold a dialectic view of multimedia technology, and make full ofmultimedia technology to serve teaching.
