China is a populous country. With a large mount of farmers andlimited arable land, farmers who only live on land revenue will havevery hard lives. Besides, with the modern technology makes a lot offarm labor no longer needed, more and more farmers began tomigrate to cities to seek a more prosperous life. That’s whyleft-behind children occurs. As a social vulnerable group, thesurvival and development of left-behind children is problematic.One of the most serious problems is the education problem of theleft-behind children. Because education is related to thedevelopment of a people’s whole life, which mean’s education willhas a profound impact on people. So we should pay more attentionon the left-behind children’s education issue. However, due to theunique family structure and the objective environment in ruralschools, the education of the left-behind children has numerousdifficulties and challenges. Therefor, we not only need to analyzethe current situation of education about the left-behind children, but also need to sort out our previous studies that we have, so thatin the future we can provide a more scientific theoretical guidancefor solving the educational problems of the left-behind children.The main purpose of this thesis is to comb and analyze ourprevious studies of the left-behind children’s educational problems,so that we can find out the advantages and disadvantages whichthe previous studies owned. By knowing this, we can find out thenew direction of left-behind children education research, enrich thetheory system of left-behind children education research, andprovide better solutions to the left-behind children’s educationproblem. In the paper, the author first analyzed the left-behindchildren’s social background. Then the author did a detailedanalysis of the theory of the left-behind children education problemwhich the scholars have made in the recent20years. After that, theauthor analyzed of the characteristics of existing research studies,including: the Left-behind children’s education theory research isunder the influence of society-oriented, media-oriented andacademic-oriented. Based on this, the author made the researchconclusion of this paper, namely: Theoretical research should beahead of social orientation, and let the research ahead of theeducation problems of left-behind children; Left-behind children’seducation research should be conducive to the nature of the left-behind children’s education problem, and the research focusesno longer depend on the media or social focuses; Academicresearch should have more independence and freedom of thought,and should break a lot of limitations.This paper is a study of left-behind children’s educationresearch in the past20years. So the author tried her best to collect,collate, analyze and compare all the relevant educational researchliterature of the left-behind children. So the main research methodsutilized in this thesis are literature analysis, historical analysis,comparative research and statistical description methods. Theauthor hope that through this research, we can tell the previousstudies’s advantages and disadvantages clearly, so that we canpoint the right direction of the left-behind children’s futureeducation research, and further enrich the theoretical system ofleft-behind children educational research.
