Research On Small-town Community Nursing Service

With the development of urbanization, our country has made great achievements in the development of small towns. However, due to the factors such as the level of economic development and population movement etc, the nursing problem has become increasingly prominent in small towns. This thesis, which focuses on the theme of "small-town community nursing service", analyzes the nursing problems that small towns are faced with. It takes the community nursing service of Shen County, Shandong Province as an example and explores the path suitable for the development of small-town community nursing service.In recent years, the political, economic, cultural and social constructions of small towns have made great achievements. At the same time, small towns’development is confronted with a series of problems, among which, the urban and rural nursing issues are increasingly being concerned by the academic circle. For a long time, the academic circle places the emphasis of nursing service on cities, especially large and medium-seized cities. Yet, the nursing service of small cities and small towns has been in the margins of academic research. At present, many scholars position the foothold of research on city communities. Few scholars concern about the significance of the development of community nursing service to small cities and rural areas. This thesis lays the research focus on the small towns located between cities and rural areas. Through making field investigations in northern common small towns, it delves deeply into the characteristics of small-town community nursing service and explores the existing problems in the process of development. Based on the problems, it put forward the idea and measure of building small-town community nursing service system to solve the nursing service problems encountered in the process of development of small towns.This thesis consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction. It introduced the background and significance of researching on the small-town community nursing problem and summarized related studies at home and abroad. It discussed and defined relevant theories and core concepts and also made a selection and definition of the research content and research methods. The second part discussed the necessity of building small-town community nursing service system in our country. The third part introduced the current situation of small-town community nursing service, taking the development of community nursing service of Shen County, Shandong Province as an example. First, it made an analysis of the governments’policies on building small-town community nursing service in Shandong Province. Second, it introduced the construction of small-town community home-based care services information platform and the construction of both software and hardware facilities in Shen County, Shandong Province. Third, it introduced the main approach of building community nursing service system in Shen County, including the organizations, services, and sources of funding of community home-based care services. The fourth part made an analysis on the survey results of small-town community nursing service status in Shen County. Through questionnaire survey and field investigations of the small-town community nursing service of Shen County, as well as the comprehensive analysis of interviews, this thesis analyzed the basic situation and nursing needs etc. It also summarized the characteristics and existing problems of small-town community nursing service, In the fifth part, based on the characteristics and existing problems of small-town community nursing service, it put forward the countermeasures of developing small-town community nursing service system from the premise of small-town community nursing service, development strategies, subjects and specific measures etc.This thesis adopted the case study approach and analyzed the characteristics and existing problems of the development of small-town community nursing service. It proposed the importance of accelerating the construction of small-town community nursing service system. It also used the welfare pluralism theory and put forward countermeasures and suggestions on how to build the small-town community nursing service system.
