Research Report Of Urban Special Elderly People Live Status In The Background Of Chinese Aging Society

Urban special elderly people mainly includes live alone elderly people, empty nesters, widows and orphans, lost only, basic living allowances recipients, illness, disability, etc which have difficulties in the daily life. The composition of elderly people, the degree of life difficulty and requirements presents different characters. With the intensification of China’s aging population and the overall increase in the elderly population, the proportion of spacial elderly people is increasing year by year, and living and care of these elderly people has become an important issue for each family and the whole community to be faced.Region F in Hefei city is selcted as an sample for this research. The exploration and analysis about the care and medical demand of special elderly people in region F are mainly by the methods of survey and interview. Thus, the problems and their sources can be analized deeply. The following parts are included in this report:Firstly, current situation and composition of population in our country and the present situation that special elderly people have been faced with in the aging background are explained to illustrate the background and significance of research on special elderly people. Secodly, the basic information of this research is explained, which is included by proportion of special elderly people, situation about income, mental and care. The age for most of the specail elderly peoply is between70and90, with a large part of elder people are empty-nesters or disabled. The endowment insurance and alimony from the offspring mainly form the income source for special elderly people. The personal annual income of the elderly peoly is different with different causes including age, gender, previous work unit and residence. Most of the elderly people in region F have the optimistic and positve mental. The direct reason that effect the elderly people mental status is health and income source status. In terms of cognition, most of the elderly people have a normal cognitive and distinguishing ability. A few part of the elderly people do not appear an obvious degradation in psychology analysis and psychology bearing ability. The cognitive ability for part of the elderly people has a significant degradation. Most of the elderly peoply are interested in religion, which also reflects the mental status of the special elderly people, and certify that they need the spiritual. In terms of physical health, the vast majority of older people with different levels of disease, poor quality of life, can’t to live alone, medical care needs. In terms of pension mode, family pension, social pension and home-based care are the main mode of pension, with the family pension is the first intention for most of the elderly people. Influenced by Chinese traditional ideas,"bring up sons to support parents in their old age" is still the most propority. In the third part the problems faced by the special elderly people and the reasons for the difficulties are introduced. Most of the poverty elderly people do not have a stable job in the young time and cause they do not have a stable pension income in the old age. For the lost only elderly people, enough care is lack. The limitness of medical equipment and the accelerating rhythm of life is the main reason for the lack of enough family care of the solitary old man. In the fourth part some solutions are proposed for the difficulties faced by the special elderly people from the aspects such as government and social organization, system and policy, social and family.Studies show that overall physical health condition for the urban special elderly people is not optimistic. The mental for them are fragile, and chronic disease prevalence rate is higher. The requiement for daily medical care, spiritual comfort and health service is very urgent. For now, however, medical and service conditions still cannot meet the needs of these special elderly people. The main reasons include regulations and policies to be improved, service facilities and service team to be fullfilled, government financial support and resources integration have defects, low social awareness. According to above conditions, related proposal is presented and discribed by the author.
