With the new curriculum reform, the teaching of history of philosophy has also changed the emphasis on students’ learning ability and mastery learning methods. As an important part of students’ learning abilities goals, through the analysis of historical maps, useful information can be extracted and used to explain the historical phenomenon, summed up the history of the law, as a skill students must master.This paper attempts to investigate and analyze the use of Historical Maps in high school history teaching, and research the problems of the application of Historical Maps in the actual teaching. It will explore how the teaching of historical maps used in the actual teaching to enhance students’ interest in learning, students of history spatial thinking, improve history teaching.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part, it interprets the importance of historical maps of teaching, research status and problems described.The second part describes the historical maps of the classification and characteristics.The third part, it masters the three aspects of historical maps role in history teaching: establish of the history of the concept of space, improve the historical knowledge of history and increase the interest in learning.The forth part, it investigate and analyze the use of Historical Maps in high school history teaching, and research the problems of the application of Historical Maps in the actual teaching.The fifth part, it explores the methods of using historical maps in high school history classroom teaching.
