The purpose of this study is to examine the survival and development status of rural private kindergartens. Through practical’s way,we can understand the early childhood education in rural areas, find the influential factors of the development of rural private kindergartens, get some specific recommendations, and enrich the theoretical study of rural private kindergartens.In this paper, put Yuan yang County of Henan Province as the study area, select each one township range from wealthy, middle to poverty townships and select one randomly township. Then randomly select an older rural private kindergarten and a relatively new rural private kindergarten as investigation objects from each of the selected townships.This study combines interview, questionnaire and observation methods. Firstly, through the narrative perspective to find out the eight rural private kindergartens’ established reasons, established procedures, teachers’recruitment, admissions and charge, faced problems. Describe eight rural private kindergartens’progress and changes during the period of management. Secondly, make a quantitative statistics of selected kindergartens, understand the basic situation of their constructions, teachers, teaching equipments, curricula and teaching materials, operation and management, so as to have a comprehensive grasp of rural private kindergartens. Finally, make an overall analysis to collected dates.Through this study, we found questions of rural private kindergartens such as the substandard buildings and facilities, irrational curricula and teaching materials, not perfect supervision and guidance systems, many security risks and lack of family’s involvement and support. Reflecting on these issues, make recommendations on the specific adjustments of rural private kindergartens’buildings and facilities, teachers’ wage and structure, the develop of local curricula, supervision and guidance mechanisms, safety investigation and homes cooperation,to promote the quality and enhance the level of private kindergartens in rural areas.
