In the strategic deployment of comprehensive deepening reform, the Communist Party proposed," We should adhere to the new path of urbanization with Chinese characteristics, in particular, to promote people-centered urbanization.". The new generation of migrant workers into the city is directly related to the level and quality of China’s urbanization. Currently,the issue stands out to such a degree that it has become an important research field of the government, academia and social concerns. Housing obtaining, as a key part in getting the new generation of migrant workers to gain a foothold in the city, plays a pivotal role in the process of integrating into the city.Based on social integration, public policy and rational choice perspective, the thesis utilizes the combination of quantity and quality analysis methods in sociological research and selects the new generation of migrant workers of16-33years old in Changsha City for the study,. Through the analysis of their housing conditions, the writer studies deeply into the relation of housing gaining and urban integration in various dimensions. The thesis provides corresponding policies according to the demands in the process of integration into the city and sums up the institutional barriers to integration, which lead to the proposal to complete public policies on migrant workers’common reserve fund and low-cost housing.The thesis is divided into five parts: Part I:Introduction. It mainly introduces the research background and related research on the integration of domestic and international cities as well as migrant workers’housing issues. Also, it puts forward the significance of this research and describes the research contents, innovation and defects.Part II:Theory. It chiefly introduces the social inclusion theory and public policy theory and probes into perspectives on rational choice theory and its application in the study.Part III:Study Design. This part of the study elaborates and defines the related core concepts. It introduces the research methods and the basic situation of sample selection and a sample survey of this study.Part IV: Analysis of Results. This section mainly carries out its analysis through sociological statistical analysis software, combined with the interview data. Through the description of the housing conditions of the new generation of migrant workers living in Changsha, it analyzes the relation to all dimensions of the new generation of migrant workers in Changsha obtaining housing issues. What’s more, it explores their housing demands and corresponding policies.Part V: Conclusions and Policy Recommendations. Conclusions of this paper are submitted further discussion are carried out.
