The reform of evaluation methods is the important drive force that promote teaching reform. At present, the reform on mathematical curriculum has prevailed around China,for the traditional evaluation methods can not satisfy the requests of the New Curriculum Reform.In2011, it has pointed that evaluation should focus on students’development and changes in study and other performances in the Junior Mathematics Course Standard. And Mathematics Performance Assessment complies with these requirements just right. So it has been a hot subject since the implementation of New Curriculum Reform.When compared with the traditional written tests, Mathematics Performance Assessment has little operability and costs much more time and labors, until now, there are few researches about Mathematics Performance Assessment which are applied in junior mathematics classroom. Therefore, the author think it’s necessary to strengthen researches on it to promote its application.There are five chapters in this thesis.Chapter one:Introduction, it mainly presents the research background and meaning, research tendency of Performance Assessment and the whole structure of this thesis.Chapter two:it gives definitions to Performance Assessment and Mathematics Performance Assessment, introducing researches made at home and abroad on the connotation, types of tasks, evaluation standard and the instruments of Performance Assessment, also it presents the author’s opinions and the research purposes.Chapter three:it analyzes the necessity and feasibility of Mathematics Performance Assessment in junior mathematics classroom from these perspectives including social demands, requirements of the New Curriculum Reform, students’developmental stage and mentality, teachers’ability and teaching materials.Chapter four: according to the classification of Mathematics Performance Assessment made by Zhang Yingbo, it lists the specific instances of the three types of MPA (including mathematical dairy, mathematical open questions and mathematical activity) applied in the junior mathematics classroom, and it analyzes the application situation of every type, and then the author put forward some suggestions.Chapter five:it provides some suggestions about developing Mathematics Performance Tasks, and establishes the group and individual evaluation criteria with strong operability, which are used as evaluation references by teachers.
