Quality education advocates that each student could obtain comprehensive development. Modern students’veiw also points out that students,in constant development,possess potential of overall development.Therefore,teachers, in the teaching process,should be able to legitimately use diverse resources promoting Comprehensive development of students,especially curriculum resources. Illustration,as important curriculum resources,can raise students’abilities of analyzing and solving problems,using language and thinking. They can also promote comprehensive development of students and improve the effectiveness of teaching.This paper, entitled "the research on the utilization of textbook illustration of the ideological and political courses in senior high school" analyzes the existing problems of textbook illustrations and tries to propose countermeasures to solve those problems.The paper is divided into four parts.The first part mainly deals with the classification of illustration in ideological and political courses, as there are so many illustrations in the textbook of ideological and political courses that they can be divided into different types according to different criterias. On the basis of classification,the paper analyzes the necessity of the illustration utilization.The second part analyzes the existing problems of textbook illustrations from both teachers and students.The third part analyzes reasons for those problems. The last part propose countermeasures to solve the existing problems of textbook illustration utilization to improve the effectiveness of illustration utilization and teaching.
