Textbook is an important intermediary between teachers and students,a tool for teachers to teach and a material for students to learn.It plays an important role in teaching.As an art form,illustration is gradually influencing people's life and learning style.Textbook illustration is an important part of the textbook and an easy resource for teachers to acquire.The illustrations in the textbook have the characteristics of visual images,rich types and so on,which accord with the preference of junior middle school students for image things,and their cognitive development level and psychological characteristics.The illustrations in the new edition of Morality and Rule of Law textbooks show strong characteristics of life and humanity as well as inspiration and expansion of thinking.The use of illustrations in the Morality and Rule of Law courses of junior high school is conducive to stimulating students' interest in learning,edifying their sentiment and guiding their values.Therefore,Morality and Rule of Law teachers in junior high schools should reasonably use this important curriculum resource in teaching,but in the process of practical use of illustrations in teaching materials,there are some problems such as single use of illustrations in teaching materials,insufficient development and utilization of illustrations in teaching materials,and teachers' neglect of teaching students to read pictures.On the basis of previous studies on textbook illustrations,this paper,combined with my own educational practice experience and by means of questionnaire survey and interview,studied the application of textbook illustrations in the Morality and Rule of Law of junior middle schools.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part discusses the research background,significance and current situation of the subject,and also briefly introduces the research contents,ideas and methods of the subject.The second part expounds the illustration of junior high school Morality and Rule of Law teaching materials and the necessity of its application in the curriculum,mainly involving the concepts,characteristics and types related to the illustration of junior high school Morality and Rule of Law teaching materials.The third part,by analyzing the results of questionnaire and interview,describes the current situation of using textbook illustrations in Morality and Rule of Law in junior middle school,and analyzes the problems in the process of using textbook illustrations.The fourth part explores the reasons behind these problems from the perspective of teachers' understanding and skills in the use of illustrations in textbooks and schools.In the last part,according to the problems and the reasons behind the problems,the author puts forward some Suggestions to optimize the use of illustrations in the Morality and Rule of Law courses in junior high school.
