| “Mathematics curriculum standards (Revised)†paid great attention to the design ofelementary school mathematics concepts issued by the Ministry of Education in2011. Themain design concepts are: attention to students’ comprehensive, sustainable and harmoniousdevelopment; develop students’ ability to find and solve problems; student gets emotionaldevelopment, attitudes, values, respect. Under the impact of the new curriculum, elementarymathematics textbook content selection, page design and so produce a lot of changes,especially illustration most obvious change in the lower grades, which occupies much of thetextbook pages, contains a rich mathematical knowledge, with the value of profoundideological education and ability. Teachers’ degree of attention, level of awareness ofillustrations and the problems encountered in the use of illustrations, good use policies, etc.we need further research to better play to the value of the textbook illustrations for studentservices.This thesis includes the following sections:The first part is an introduction. Including research the origin, review relevant researchat home and abroad, research ideas, methods and innovation.The second part is the primary mathematics textbooks illustrations related concepts andtheoretical basis. Concept definition includes illustrations and elementary mathematicstextbook illustration of the concept; theoretical basis of the relevant laws, including thedevelopment and characteristics of students, students learn psychology theory, structuretheory of visual language.The third part is the classification of elementary mathematics textbook illustrations.Including unit import illustrations, new teaching topic maps, exercises illustrations and unitsummary section illustrations.The fourth part is the analysis of present situation and elementary mathematics textbookillustration. The first part is an introduction to research methods, and the remaining foursections were analyzed from four categories illustration. Through the description of presentsituation and the situation of each part of survey analysis, we can see a higher level of awareness of teachers in general illustrations, most teachers are able to recognize theimportance of illustrations, and can take advantage of illustration for teaching, noting that useillustrations to develop students various aspects of capacity, moral education, but also morerecognized existing textbook illustration design colors, layout. We sure that most teachersrecognize and use textbook illustrations properly, but also found some problems which exist,as part of teachers’ level of awareness of extent and value of imported units and summaryillustrations is not high, the theme of the new teaching topic maps using a single teachingstrategies, etc.The fifth part is elementary school mathematics textbook illustration of the use ofcountermeasures and suggestions. Proposed to increase from a textbook illustration of the useof improved quality strategies, teachers use a textbook illustration of elementary mathematicsskills, the creation of conducive environment for the use of the textbook illustrations,textbook compilation to improve the quality and other aspects.The sixth part is the conclusion.
