From the view of biological point, the human has men and women. Gender rolesof men and women seem to be patterned naturally. But scholar of Gender theory thinkthat the social environment makes the gender role of every man and woman, namelybehavior patterns and character trait provided by the society and community groups.School education is a part of social education, physical and mental age of high schoolstudents are in the high speed development stage, only high school students touchhealthy sex education, established gender role that accord with social concept. Inaddition to family education, school education is that high school students receive thelongest time, the most system a kind of education style, the textbook that studentstouch everyday undoubtedly is the most lasting education that generally affect sexcharacter concept of high school students in the micro-level. In the nineteen eighties,a new educational thoughts from Western to China, namely the feminist educationaltrend, this trend has given new inspiration for gender issues we study textbook,scholars found that: there is a gender bias problem hidden in the textbooks throughresearch, the concept of " women are inferior to men" of our traditional ideology deepin the textbook, the feminist educational thoughts from the west to our country, givesus a new perspective to study the textbook, namely hidden gender concept in thetextbook. The study found: textbooks generally exist gender bias, namely traditionalconcept of our country" think that women are inferior to men" deeply rooted intextbooks, This concept affect their shaping of their gender role for the transition ofhigh school students,. At present, many scholars have studied some gender bias inPEP textbooks. But for research of a new set of textbooks (ordinary high schoolcurriculum standard experiment textbook <obligatory>) relatively lacks, This papercarries on the analysis for this set of textbooks.This paper research the PEP curriculum standard experimental textbook withstatistical data and analysis for the text. This paper has three parts: first, sholarresearch situation of the textbook in the Britain and the United States countries anddomestic. Secondly, the statistical data proportion in male and female writers in thetextbook, the main and secondary character of role materials, the identity of the rolesof men and women and analysis gender orientation of the roles of men and womenthrough the character keyword, And explain the impact of these problems for the male and female students. The third part, we can found problems according to above parts,analyzes the causes and puts forward some relevant improving measures. The reason:the traditional idea Reflects in the textbooks from ancient times to the present,attributed to social factors; textbook writers influenced by inherent in the concept, theconcept is composed in the preparation teaching materials unconsciously, it is humanfactors; preparation of the material in the article is the choice of classical works, butthe writers considered only value of the classic works, do not consider whether or notthe value of these works can develop as the times.The improvement measuresinclude the following: we should awaken gender equality awareness of textbookwriters; teachers have the concept of gender equality; Using concept of genderequality to supplementary articles and analysis articles and teaching activities.
