Walk Away From Ethical Dilemma----an Research Of Building Culture Consciousness Of College Students Under The Multicultural Background

Culture determines ethicality. So the multicultural background determines that contemporary college students’ethical dilemma hiding in deep cultural reasons behind the many external appearances. In the context of single traditional culture, no matter what the appearance of ethical dilemma is, it is always hovering in a single culture, and ethical confusion has nothing in relation to the ultimate value of cultural background. However, in a multicultural context, various cultures are related together. Enormous diversity of value and the confusion of culture embodied in the multi-cultural phenomenon make modern society and modern people sink into a confusion of value. Confused value not only cannot manage college students to bear a consciousness on the cultural status, function and value of nationality, but also deprives students of rational look and judge about other culture. College students without cultural consciousness beyond doubt will lose stable cultural foundation on ethical cognition and lose clear ethical goal. In the situation, their driving force of ethical progress will be increasingly weak, and eventually lost in complicated ethical values, which means ethical dilemma. Therefore, if students should come out from ethical dilemma under the multicultural background, the most fundamental thing is to build a correct and clear culture consciousness, which takes the national culture as a basic (not absolute) and dependable value standard. Meanwhile, they should also have a clear vision on the various cultures and their implicit ethical values in a multicultural environment.Based on the literature, this paper also combines with interviews of teachers and students to get effective research data on theory and practice. This article is divided into four sections. The first part is about the main issues and the introduction of related studies, describing the possibilities of studying ethical dilemma from the view of cultural consciousness. The second part is to introduce the external appearance and internal nature of ethical dilemma that college students encountered in the multicultural context, deducing the essence of college students’ ethical dilemma is the lack of cultural consciousness. After the conclusion drawn above, the third part is to analyze the causes of students’ loss of cultural consciousness, focusing on the dimensions of history, education and students themselves. The fourth part proposes the reference suggestions on building students’ cultural consciousness, such as cultivating correct culture views for college students, insisting education principles with both legitimacy and effectiveness, of which the main way is to cultivate and build students’ cultural consciousness through school education, guide them out of ethical dilemma under the multicultural background.
