As the popularity of net ease public class and national excellent courses, the network education of relying on the Internet gradually go into the public view, become a kind of new way of the popularization of higher education. Therefore, as the latest leading role of network education-MOOC that sweeping the world depend on the convenience of the teacher, school and the Internet with its impressive their ears trend, make the world famous universities have formed an alliance, to join the platform of MOOC, devoting our high quality education resources, and managed to make tens of ten million people to taste the essence of the world famous universities. The rise of MOOC, some people think that it will replace the traditional higher education, in order to break the difficult problem of development of the current higher education, quality decline, high cost, etc; Also somebody thinks that MOOC just follow traditional network education, will eventually be a flash in the pan, not at all surprising. Therefore, the discussion of MOOC became a topic of current education. More in-depth research to MOOC has great practical significance that make more people rational recognize and understand MOOC,In this article, though analysis education phenomenon of MOOC. It reveals the concept, characteristics and function of MOOC from the Angle of pedagogy. And through contrast between commonness and characteristics of MOOC and the traditional education with the education concept, teaching process, education quality, etc, to forecasts the trend of future development, thus it is concluded that under the background of MOOC, our country’s higher education should make the corresponding countermeasures.This article is divided into seven parts:The first part:put forward to the contemporary research background of the subject and its research value. The second part:summarized the related research status of MOOC in domestic and foreign, understand the development status of MOOC in many ways, avoid the repetition and study of waste.The third part:the paper introduces the MOOC, including the concept, the design concept and related education movement of MOOC, in turn to analyze the main characterizations of MOOC:openness, large-scale, personalization, self-organization, social and other characteristics.The fourth part:elaborated the challenge of MOOC to the traditional higher education. Respectively in the three major aspects:education concept, teaching process, education quality. First of all, in the aspect of education idea of higher education from the three landmark concept: Newman’s higher education idea, Humboldt’s higher education idea, the higher education ideology of Wisconsin, it analysis of the impact of MOOC to these ideas that broke through the boundaries of traditional physical, geographic and psychological. Secondly, the impact of MOOC to higher education teaching process mainly displays in:the change of teaching mode, the development of education object, and the abundance of teaching content, the varied of teaching means and the change of teaching environment, the conversion of teaching role. Thirdly, the conflicts of MOOC in the quality of higher education displays in:the rise of MOOC effects the quality of elite education and mass education quality and internationalization of higher education, because of the characteristic of the network education has also a certain influence on student Numbers and age structure, thus contributing to the improvement of students’ability of employment.The fifth part:to the trend of the development of MOOC and the traditional higher education has carried on the corresponding forecast, put forward in the development of the future there will be three trends that both cross, integration, competition.The sixth part:under the background of MOOC according to the traditional education of our country should be change, set up the network education consciousness, construct platform for long-term incentive, guide university to participate in actively, strengthen the technical training, build university teachers team of high quality, advance the process of network legislation, standardize the network education environment and so on.The seventh part:conclusion of the article, to summarized and concluded the results of research and deficiency.Above is the mainly viewpoints of this article, due to the limitation of time, energy and knowledge, it’s hard to avoid the shortcomings. The view of this paper is just my view, I look forward to working with colleagues and to learn from each other.
