In the context of three-level managerial system of curriculum building and new curriculum reforming, theory and practice of school-based curriculum develop rapidly. The development and application of music school-based curriculum are cultivated in schooling. Based on available curriculum resources and features of school music teaching, course innovation is carried out through curriculum design, experiment, evaluation and management. With its unique artistic charm national folk music inherits the national culture and national spirit. Under the impact of multicultural music and ideology it is difficult for national folk music to inherit music culture. We need to change it to education inheritance and combine it with modern education theory.Education in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is less developed. The consciousness of curriculum reform is lagging behind and the development of music school-based curriculum is still in its early stage. Ningxia, a place where minority nations living together, houses rich folk music resources. National folk music as teaching materials is introduced into music school-based curriculum and music school-based curriculum is a way to inherit national folk music. Neither can exist effectively without the other.This thesis is an empirical study on the development of music school-based curriculum in Xingqing District of Yinchuan’s primary school. Theoretically, it discusses the philosophical and psychological foundation of music school-based curriculum and musical course resources. In practice, through interview and questionnaire, this thesis studies current situation of music school-based curriculum in Xingqing District of Yinchuan’s primary school. Finally, it provides foundations for sound development of music school-based curriculum in Yinchuan’s primary school.
