Teaching design is a systematic process. It analyses the teaching problems, confirms teaching objectives, explores strategies of solving teaching problems, applies to practice, reflects the teaching results and revises the strategies on the basis of teaching theories with the method of system analysis. Its final aim is to achieve the best teaching effect and enhance teaching efficiency.This thesis tries to explore the reasons why Chinese schools in Thailand make a slow progress in Chinese teaching through a survey about current Chinese teaching situation and teaching material they use. Then several problems about the common teaching material were found. These problems reflect that the style of current teaching material is not fit for students in Chinese schools of Thailand. It relates to Chinese learning interest of students who study in Chinese schools in Thailand. Thus, the writer put forward several teaching methods that may suit students aiming at the problems found in the teaching material so as to adjust teaching strategies, make a reasonable use of teaching material, and ensure teaching efficiency. In the end, under the reference of the theory on teaching design and teaching methods that may fit students in Chinese schools, the writer selected lesson9of Chinese textbook and made a teaching design.There are five parts in this thesis. The content of each part is as follow:The first part:The preface states the reasons choosing the topic and its researching meaning. Then it introduces the current research of Chinese teaching in Thailand. At last, it states the research contents and research strategies.The second part:This part is about a survey of current Chinese teaching situation and teaching material used in Chinese schools of Thailand. After the survey, the writer sorted out the data and analysis the results. And the writer found out that there existed several problems affecting Chinese teaching. So the writer put forward several teaching method towards the problems found.The third part:This part expounds the necessity and principles of teaching design. It’s the theory basis of this paper.The fourth part:This part is the core part of this thesis. It begins a concrete teaching design lying on the basis of the above-mentioned survey and theory.The fifth part:This is the final part of the paper, In this part, the writer firstly arranged her thought about the whole layout, and then summarized the advantages and disadvantages. The writer hopes that teachers who work on teaching Chinese to foreigners never stop to discover and sum up new rules in teaching practice so as to rich the theory of teaching design research in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
