Taking2009rural education masters in Hubei Province as the object of study and using the method of literature research, this paper summarizes the "Master Teacher Plan" and the theoretical exploration of "professional development of teachers". With the demonstration methods of comprehensive interviews, questionnaires, case analysis and object observation etc., it goes into a real world of "rural masters" from which their "life stories" are regarded as the starting point to explore their five-year growth paths, summarizes the characteristics of the growth, and discovers problems to accordingly deal with the deficiencies.This study contains four parts:the introduction presents the background, significance, content and methods of this research. And it is also an outline of the concepts of Master of Rural Education, professional development of teachers and teacher training mode as well as their related researches, which will be the theoretical bases of the next chapters.The second part is the core part of this paper, which consist of four chapters. Based on a wealth of information, this paper summarizes the four stages of2009rural education masters in Hubei Province presented in their five-year professional growth process: pre-job period、teaching practice period、professional study period、professional orientation period. Each stage is separated as an independent chapter. The contents of each chapter include analysis of the tasks of the professional growth in each stage and understanding characteristics of "rural masters" professional growth at various stages through specific cases.The third part is the seventh chapter. Based on the previous chapters, it presents that there are three main problems in the "rural masters" professional growth process. They are low professional level of "rural masters", separation body of "rural masters" training professional training, weak self-development capacity of "rural masters". Chapter Seven proposes appropriate paths to solve the four problems:firstly, build a three-dimensional support system and define the responsibilities of the body; secondly, ensure the continuity of the three-stage training, that is, pre-job training, on-the-job training and professional education are all indispensable and shall be linked to each other; thirdly, construct learning communities to grow with partners; last, self-develop their professional abilities.
