Xinjiang is located in the multi-ethnic enclaves, and its social problems are related to the development and stability in two ways. From the perspective of social work, social work in Xinjiang not only helps the vulnerable groups to solve the basic problems of life, but also undertakes the arduous task of maintaining social stability. Social work, based on diversification of its professional service features, can effectively mitigate social conflicts, and help to solve social problems. In this multi-ethnic of integration in Xinjiang region, with complex ethnic relations, the development of social work is helpful to promote national unity and social stability in border areas.Social work specialty of University in Xinjiang region after ten years of development, has gradually become an important part of higher education, not only contribute to the educational development of the Xinjiang region, but reserve a large number of social work professionals in Xinjiang. In reviewing the achieved fruitful results this year in university in Xinjiang, we should not ignore the reasons of the plight of development of professional education and the faced difficulties. Based on the existing research results, use the sociology and the related social work theory as a guide, and take the professional social work college teachers and students in Xinjiang region as the investigation object, by means of the qualitative and quantitative research methods, in order to discuss the college Social work Education achievements, difficulties and the arising reason that faced difficulties in Xinjiang region. After reviewing achievements of the development of social work education, there are some problems currently appearing in-depth analysis and discussion. For example, the recruitment difficulties, lack of teaching resources, employment units counterparts, weak efforts to support the competent authorities and other outstanding issues. Through the analysis of these issues, the author combines the recent literature of ideas and measures, as well as the actual situation in the Xinjiang region, to propose the corresponding ideas and measures. At the same time, we should speed up the process of professionalization of social work, and provide security for professional jobs which suits to social work specialty.
