On Current Problems Of The Cultivation Of MEM In China And Solutions

Since the twentieth century, the social economy in China constantly has been developing in a good and rapid way. Correspondingly, the development of new type of industry and traditional industry tends to increase quickly. Therefore, all sectors of society calls for more and more talents of project management and the requirements are increasingly higher. Under this circumstance, previous training mode of project management can not meet the needs of social and economic development. It is an inevitable trend to cultivate high-quality and high-level talents of project management who can adapt to the demand of the development of modernized new type of enterprise and the transformation of traditional industry. Thus, how to cultivate such kind of talents becomes a new challenge for the higher education in China.Firstly, this thesis reviews the evolution process of Master of Engineering Management the professional degree in China and the development process of MEM as well with the documentary method. On this basis, the data on the training objective, training mode, curriculum system, and practice way and graduation requirement of MEM is respectively analyzed to summarize the current situation and characteristics of the cultivating mode of MEM.Secondly, this thesis conducts a comparative study between the domestic and overseas cultivation of MEM, mainly taking America’s cultivating mode of MEM to compare and analyze and thus put forward suggestions on the cultivation of MEM in China. Finally, based on the above study, it comes to the conclusion on the current problems of the cultivation of MEM in China and provides relative solutions from such aspects as the training objective, cultivation process, curriculum provision, teaching staff construction and policy support.
