Since2001, the new curriculum reform of basic education has comprehensively launched, and it pays much attention to teachers’ teaching behavior and students’ study way, advocating that the role of teacher is the student learning facilitator and guide and autonomy, cooperation, explore ways of learning. However, due to the influence of traditional teaching ideas, teachers "leading" role and students "subject" status is not fully reflected in. Therefore, how to arouse the students’ autonomous learning desire and fully mobilize students’initiative learning is particularly important to change the way of teachers’teaching. This project researching on " book of autonomous learning " around the core of improving the learning efficiency and easing the burden on students to compile, aiming to establish autonomous, cooperative and inquiry system of classroom teaching.Literature analysis, interview, and questionnaire survey methods etc, were used for the present study. Biology module Ⅲ about "Homeostasis and Environment " for high schools was studied as an example for "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning", which are using for the students of the High School Attached to Hunan Normal University. It discusses the method of development of the "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning", teaching and learning processes and requirements for teachers, in order to provide reference for teachers in the development and use of relevant learning programs.Firstly, based on the Literature analysis, it learns that the advantages and disadvantages of the Learning case, which is similar to the "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning" and currently used in classroom. For example, it fails to fully take into account the student’s learning situation so that it can not be suitable for all students with different levels; It is not conducive to the management and preservation by the forms; In the classroom, it usually answer the questions without training the ability of autonomous, cooperative and inquiry. Therefore, based on the advantage of learning case, it studies the "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning" in detail, which is combined with the requirements of new-curriculum reform in the teaching of biology. And this paper explores that the development method of "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning", which contains with the principle of writing, the process and form. After that, the dissertation describes the writing method of study case, inquiry case and training case in "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning". Secondly, based on the questionnaire survey(including the questionnaire to teachers and students), it gets the result of the use of "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning" during the year and a half. And it shows that both teachers and students prefer to use the "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning"; It helps students to improve self-learning ability of students and provides students with more opportunity to ask questions. But there are some problems, such as the lager number of issues in some columns and it needs to promote the students’enthusiasm of questions. So based on that, it discusses that the implementation process and the requirements for teachers when using the "Manual Book of Self-Directed Learning" in classroom.
