Study On Current Homeschooling In America And Enlightenment From It

Based on the development of "school choice movement" and the crisis of the school education, American homeschooling began to rise in1950s. It refers to the school-age student study at home under the guardian of parents instead of going to school. To some extent, the essence of American Homeschooling is a humanism educational form.American Homeschooling has reached into a mature state gradually from the underground state to the legal state since1950s. It is commendable that the essence of the American Homeschooling is about to solve as such problems:how to cultivate sound people. The practice of American Homeschooling is of great significance to education practice. Now the number of American Homeschooling has reached about more than one million. The statistic is amazing and we can view the strong vitality of it. The paper explores current American homeschooling situations from the application process and related policy, the scale of development, educational methods and resources to students’socialization, moral education and after-graduate situation, which based on literature method, history method and comparative method, then explore the achievements of the American Homeschooling, aiming to help get a knowledge of the value and meaning of the existence of American Homeschooling. What I want to special note is I’m trying to present a full view of homeschooling, then analyze the reasons why it is so successful instead of advocating homeschooling or criticizing school education. The purpose of the paper is to assimilate the essence of American Homeschooling so that analyze the feasibility of the homeschooling in our country in order to probe into our country’s education and make lesson from American Homeschooling and better our country’s homeschooling education.
