On The Exploitation And Utilization Of Art Course Resources In Meishan Culture

With the development of economy, people are attaching more importance to cultures, and Meishan Culture, which bears cultural and aesthetic characteristics of local ethnic groups in central Hunan Province, is attracting increasing attention. As an important part of Huxiang Culture, Meishan Culture has been brought into classrooms of various primary or secondary schools, who have cultivated many school courses based on it, and are especially beloved owing to its abundance and uniqueness in artistic resources. This thesis is aimed to cover the problem how these artistic resources of Meishan Culture could be exploited and utilized in the education of fine arts, especially for senior high schools.This thesis consists of five aspects. The first of them gives a brief introduction to the backgrounds, significance and approaches of this study and some relevant definitions. The second, based on three study cases, tries to analyze and explains the present situation of resources of Meishan Culture in artistic education, while the third mostly states the practical ways and strategies of exploiting the artistic resources of Meishan Culture according to findings of a few case studies. The fourth part analyzes the functions and influences of school-based courses of Meishan Culture. The last of the thesis concerns the prospect of artistic education of Meishan Culture and the main drawbacks of this project.This study of the exploitation of the artistic resources of Meishan Culture on the basis of the new curriculum and school course is meant to put forward some useful reference for teachers of fine arts in their teaching strategies and practice, and by means of fostering students’ aesthetic awareness and enhancing their love of life and their home countries, satisfies the goal of the education of fine arts-carrying cultures and promoting the overall development of humans.
