With the new curriculum reform being carried out for many years, its concepthas rooted into people’s hearts, which advocates automatic, cooperative, andinquiry-based learning approach and aims to develop and improve each student’sscientific literacy, so as to make them become overall talents.“Student-orientededucation” is an educational concept that the new curriculum vigorously praised, which plays an important role in children’s growth. Of course, there are still manytraditional classroom habits in the teaching process, not giving enough attention tostudents’ autonomy, maximum potential, and their life-state, which greatly suppressthe students’ creativity and analysis capabilities.“Student-oriented education”emerged at the right moment in the context of the new curriculum reform. This thesisemphasizes the concept of student-oriented education and how to improve teachingmethods in current situation, put student-oriented education into classroom practiceand solve urgent problems in the teaching process. This thesis is divided into three parts, giving a description of the“student-oriented education”. In part one, the author introduces the researchbackground, situation and significance of the thesis, and also analyzes the researchprocess and methods of the thesis. A general overview of the background andtheoretical basis for the development of the “student-oriented education” theory is putforward. The second part analyzes the existing problems in the teaching process ofideological and political class, including single aim of teaching target, the overallemphasis on the intellectual growth of students while ignoring the moral aspects;among them, the key problem is that it neglects the comprehensive development ofpeople, which is contradict to Marxist theory of man. Besides that, of course, immobilization of teaching content, rigid stiffness of the teaching process, utilitarianof the teaching evaluation have made the whole process of teaching far away fromreality and the times; also it has ignored the dominant position of the student in theclassroom. This part analyzes causes of such phenomena and also makes overall explanation of the current educational system, schools, teachers and students in allaspects.Part three is the key point of this thesis, explaining how to improve theeffectiveness of classroom learning under the guidance of “student-orientededucation” concept. This part also can be divided into three aspects, starting from“for-student” concept, that is, teachers should update their teaching ideas and have anin-depth understanding of “student-oriented education” to put this theory into theirteaching practice. Another aspect is to “respect highly of the students”, which meansto renew teaching contents and methods, making this lesson perfectly connected withstudents’ daily life and study experience, and also enriches the teaching content, finding the best way of teaching. The last aspect is to “rely wholly on students”,making progress of the student evaluation system, treating the evaluation core-thestudents as the main part in the evaluation, at the same time, the evaluation standardshould not only include single knowledge, but also comprehensive quality. Bydeleting the rigid grade-evaluation and enriching the evaluation system, students’interests are greatly motivated. By using the student-oriented concept into teachingpractice can promote students learning enthusiasm so as to reach the goal of “noteaching but the students still be taught”.
