China began a new round of curriculum reform on the primary education from2001. TheEducation Department pay attention to the concept of "curriculum resources" in this reform,the problem of the development and utilization of the local resources of history curriculum isalso a part of the curriculum reform. The local resources of history curriculum is the total ofhistory curriculum resources in the administrating district where the students study. The localresources of history curriculum is the history around the teachers and students, and it is alsothe beneficial supplement of the national curriculum, so we should pay attention to the localresources of history curriculum in teaching.The local resources of history curriculum in Hengshui area is very rich. In this paper,they are divided into literature resources, physical resources, non-material cultural resourcesand network resources to introduce and analyze. But there are many problems in thedevelopment and utilization of the local resources of history curriculum in Hengshui area, forexample, the community, the schools and teachers don’t pay enough attention to the localresources of history curriculum, students have no time to study it, and theexamination-oriented education system is the main cause of this situation. The authorexplored the solutions to these issues, and put forward some ideas, for example, teachersshould improve their local historical literacy, the schools should organize students to visit thelocal humanistic landscape, the community should support and assist the development andutilization of the local resources of history curriculum, and schools should take an active partin developing the school-based curriculum and writing school-based teaching materials.
