Under the Globalization, respecting for Life Significance and improving the quality of life has become a contemporary issue. Facing the problems as the abandonment of youth education, violence, suicide, etc., in the last1960s and1970s, the Japanese government clearly has put forward the philosophy of Life Education."Concept of respecting the spirit and reverencing for life", which is the part of the Moral Education, inculudes the content of Life Education. As the three pillars of Life Education’s goals,"healthy body","wealthy humanity" and "reliable scholastic ability" reflect Japan’s contemporary education concerns about Life Education.In Japan, research and practice of Life Education is running throughout the Moral Education, but there is no systematic analysis of it in the existing research. So this thesis attempts to examine relevant policies and programs of the Moral Education, explore Japan’s Life Education’s objectives, contents and methods combined with the development situation of Japan’s Life Education, clarify researching significance of Japan’s primary and secondary Life Education for China. Therefore, this thesis is divided into four parts as follows:As the theoretical part of the thesis, the first part has made the development process of Japan’s Life Education in details, by tracing the background of Japan’s Life Education, basic on the theoretical foundation of Japan’s Thoughts of Life Education.The second part is the key part. Making Life Education in Japan’s schools as the research object, from the perspective of the goals and contents of Life Education, methods and approaches of Life Educations and the characteristics of Life Education, to examine and analyses it comprehensively.The third part is the part of the evidence demonstration. Through analysis of Life Education with Thematic Teaching in the school of Tokyo, Hyogo, Okinawa, Fukushima, presented the important stages and teaching methods of Japan’s Life Education specifically and comprehensively.The fourth part is written from an objective perspective. Analyzed Life Education of Japan’s schools, summarized the problems of Life Education, combined with status of Life Education to make concreted proposals to provide reference for the Life Education of primary and secondary school of China.
