Minority areas have special significance in Its unique geographical environment, political landscape and Its colorful culture. As the new curriculum reform develops deeply and the establishment of the three-level curriculum management system. The elementary and middle schools in Southwest minority areas of China set a lot school-based curriculum and activities about their minority culture. The development of school-based curriculum provides Southwest ethnic minority areas opportunities and spaces to heritage and develop their culture.However, the development and implementation of school-based curriculum is difficult and complicated. Based on the fieldwork in Youyang, Teachers’low motivation in the development of school-based curriculum, teachers lack of teaching reflection behavior in school-based curriculum, teachers’weak creation consciousness in school-based curriculum teaching, teachers’deviations in the understanding of Minority culture are found the school-based curriculum process. The development and implementation of Curriculum is very rough and casual. Teachers’ action goes against their Knowledge. This reveals the lost of teachers’school-based curriculum consciousness. With the deepening of the school-based curriculum process, more and more teachers feel that is unable to do what they hopes to do.Three-level curriculum management policy gives teachers more rights and higher requirements. The right consciousness of the school-based curriculum in Southwest ethnic areas contains self-consciousness nationality and creativeness. Self-consciousness is the basis of teachers’strong consciousness of school-based curriculum; Creativity is the source of teachers keep strong school-based curriculum consciousness; National character is the soul of the school-based curriculum consciousness in ethnic minority areas. These three are integrated, none is dispensable.This study analyzes the causes of the school-based curriculum awareness lost, Pointing out the right status. Putting forward the reform of teacher education to improve teachers’ curriculum consciousness; training teachers to reflective practice; Strengthen teachers’ national culture training; promote the diversification of evaluation to teachers; Improve teachers’ professional development.
