On Establishing Ecological Ideology Among High School Students Through Natural Theme Prose Teaching

In the junior middle school’s Chinese text books, natural theme prose accounts for ahigh proportion. It contains rich and profound ecological view. It also provides substantialmaterial for students’ ecological ideology education. Through case analysis, the authoranalyzes the unsatisfying situation of natural theme prose teaching nowadays. Besides this,the author points out some problems, such as too much emphasis on technical aspects ofthe teaching contents, replacement of personalized interpretation by authoritativeinterpretation, and teachers’ arrangements of all the teaching procedures and so on. Theauthor suggests that there are three factors that lead to the phenomenon. First, people don’tpay enough attention to the ecological ideology education. Second, people ignore “deepecological system” of human being. Finally, people access the ecological educationvaguely. Aiming at the phenomenon, the author thoroughly discusses the necessity ofpermeating the ecological ideology teaching into the natural theme prose teaching. Then,using the ecological criticism, the author carries on the classification and characteristicanalysis of the natural theme prose in7-9grade teaching materials of Jiangsu Educationversion. The rich connotation of the ecological natural theme prose is fully discovered,thus provides the possibility of infiltrating ecological ideology education in the teaching ofnatural theme prose. Further more, using the case analysis method and ecological criticism,several implementation principles have been put forward: pleasure principle, individualityprinciple and step-by-step principle. Finally, guided by these principles, based on the newcurriculum standards and teaching material in7-9grade teaching materials of JiangsuEducation version, the author set appropriate ecological education goals to cultivate thestudents’ ecological consciousness and concept from the very essence of the ecologicalperspective, namely the “harmony between man and nature”. At the same time, combinedwith the author’s own related theory, experience and teaching practice, a set of simple, feasible and practical implementation strategy is designed to guide the ecological concepteducation in the natural theme prose teaching.
