In essence, college students’ citizen consciousness education is a sort of consciousness education, which is an important part of ideological and political education in colleges and universities. The17th party congress reports emphasize that we should strengthen the civic education and establish the idea of socialist democratic and legal, free and equal, fair and just. We are desired to build a socialist country ruled by law and develop the socialist political civilization. Strengthening the civic education is not only the need of developing the socialist democracy, but also the precondition of improving civil diathesis. As the future builders and successors of socialism in our country, college students should accept more citizen consciousness education to promote their civil diathesis. Enhancing citizen consciousness education of college students is conducive to the promotion of targeting the ideological and political education, the innovation and development of the theory of ideological and political education. What’s more, it’s also the base and main point to cultivate college students’ socialist core values. Since the18th party congress, the gradually performing socialist core value points out the direction of the citizen consciousness education of college students.The introduction analyzes the current research situation and development needs of college students’ citizen consciousness education.
