Nowadays, the New Curriculum Reform is implemented in full wings, which calls for a series of new requirements and new challenges in Junior English Teaching. In the wake of reforming more and more deeply, in spite of remarkable achievements achieved, there exist a vast array of problems, including the facts that students lack abilities of autonomous learning and cooperative inquiry, exposed in junior high school teaching. As a new classroom teaching model and organization form the flipped classroom model provides a new idea and insight for further education reform. It is consistent with requirements of the New Curriculum Reform, which pays more attention to stimulation of students’interests and cultivation of autonomous learning ability as well as collaborative innovation ability. By implementing the flipped classroom of English teaching in junior middle schools, this study attempts to put forward teaching procedures and explore teaching designs and implementation strategies, aiming to offer a new way of solving the problems encountered in the New Curriculum Reform, optimizing English classroom instruction, improving learners’autonomous learning ability and collaborative innovation ability.The thesis is divided into the following three stages:the theoretical preparation phase, the practical teaching phase and the summing-up phase.In the first stage, namely the theoretical preparation phase, numerous related literatures at home and abroad are analyzed and generalized. Based on summary of connotation, implementation elements, teaching procedures and relevant theories of the flipped classroom, the research objectives and contents are confirmed.In the practical teaching phase, the study takes a class of Grade7in Qinzhou city as the research subjects and adopts the basic steps of action research accompanied by classroom observation, questionnaire survey and interview, etc. Thus, these three action researches can perfect the teaching procedure, design and exploit the learning resources, and discuss the implementation strategies of flipped classroom continuously.In the summing-up phase, after deliberating and practicing on those phases that is,the preparation phase, the pre-class study phase, the pre-class interaction phase, and the in-class study and consolidation phase, it raises the teaching procedures in the flipped classroom of junior English teaching and preliminarily discuss the teaching strategies including strategies of collecting and editing learning resources, using QQ Group platform, organizing teaching and learning activities; and discovery of problems existed in implementation of the flipped classroom, such as conversion of teachers’ professional abilities, reasonable arrangement of pre-class study time etc..Last but not least, it makes an expectation for further study in spite of some limitations in the thesis.
