Cycling is a kind of sport requiring athletes riding a bicycle to competespeed, endurance and technique with certain specifications. Currently, the advantages ofcycling in the world is still in Europe. As international veteran cycling athletes retired, alarge number of newcomers are emerging. If we can focus on young athletes’scientifictraining, cycling will certainly compete for a place in the world.Cycling projects are physical, athletes should have the strength, endurance, speed, flexibility, agility and other physical fitness. Meanwhile, the nerve-musclebalance activity can not be ignored. In the capable training process filled with dangerand challenges, constantly repeating tedious ride is more prone to cause mental fatigue. Some athletes will suffer from anxiety, worry, depression, pain and other negativeemotional reactions, some even feel depressed,or in a negative state of despair, whichmay affect the performance and development of bodily functions, and then ruin theirsports career. So the study of cyclists, especially adolescent ones,in mental fatigue andrecovery becomes necessary. In this study,10adolescents Suzhou cyclists are chosen as test objects, using the‘ABQ’to test the degree of mental fatigue, under different degree offatigue, cadence, heart rate and oxygen uptake were measured, finally, measured data areanalyzed statistically. The purpose is to explore whether the cadence can be used for theassessment of mental fatigue and recovery of cyclists,to explore more direct assessmentmethods, use it to guide training and competition, improve athletic performance, andreduce sports injuries. The results showed that:(1)The testing results of adolescent cyclists mental fatigueat different periods are of regularity, indicating the degree of mental fatigue and exerciseintensity as well as exercise density have a positive correlation.(2)The dimensions of mental fatigue and cadence indicators in different states are similar in the adjustmentperiod to fatigue period, the mid-to late recovery, but different in other stages, whichshows that using cadences to judge mental fatigue and recovery lacks stability. Becausepsychology is also affected by many other factors, such as the content of the training, training sites, body level, etc.(3)Correlation among the dimensions of mental fatiguehas statistical significance with the help of high consistency.Correlation amongcadence, heart rate and oxygen uptake also have statistical significance, and theconsistency is high. But the correlation between mental fatigue index and cadence wasnot statistically significant. The result indicates that the changes of mental fatiguedimension and physiological changes are not synchronized. In assessing fatigue, thespecific relationship in different dimensions of mental fatigue, cadence indicators andphysiological indicators have yet to be more empirical research and discussion.(4)Infatigue period, optional cadence exhibited lower heart rate, the appearing of a high heartrate in the cadence of high intensity and low intensity, indicating a more favorablemovement is better for players.(5)Using stepwise method to build regression equationin order to predict mental fatigue, equations are:①Reduced personalaccomplishment=4.131+0.302emotional/physical exhaustion+0.048low intensitycadence+0.340the negative evaluation of the movement.②emotional/physicalexhaustion=-2.834+0.750lower accomplishment+0.043heart rate under low intensity-0.094cadence under low intensity+0.078optional tempo.③negative evaluation of themovement=0.147+0.564-0.060lower personal accomplishment-0.060cadence underlow intensity+0.036heart rate under low intensity.(6)From the above regressionequation, the results can be drawn: the cadence can be used in the assessment ofmental fatigue in sports, but it can not be used alone.
