During the past20years, the application of the multimedia teaching, represented by computer network and communication technology, has achieved remarkable success in the higher education. Satellite communications and the Internet as the primary means, the modern distance education, has provided great convenience for the development of the adult higher education. Education informationization has become the sole path to promote the adult higher education.Currently, the open education resources as the main form of open courses online of foreign elite universities and video open class in China have got rapid spreads and developments. Video open class has been important channel for higher education resources open to the society, sharing in the whole society. The advantage of the teaching and learning separation of space-time, self-directed learning, free opening, has got great coupling with the adult higher education in China. Therefore, the study possesses vital theoretical and practical significance to alter the philosophies of schooling, innovate school-running patterns, improve teaching methods and so on.The study adopts literature research method, comparative analysis method, qualitative analysis method and qualitative analysis method, observation method, to analysis and explore the influence and the acceleration on the school-running patterns, school missions and orientations, teaching approaches of traditional adult higher education generated by video open classes. Explore the issues confronted by video-open-class in advancing the adult higher education.The reach draws a conclusion that:1.video open classes can innovate the adult educational missions and orientations;2.innovate the schooling-running patterns, improve the teaching approaches and promote the improvement of the adult higher education teaching methods;3.there will be some obstacles in the process of development of higher education in promoting adult video session;4.only change ideas, accepted and widely used; To solve existing problems will be able to play a video public class function to promote the development of adult higher education.The study is divided into six parts, the first part mainly summarize the research status of video open classes at home and abroad; The second and the third part systematically introduced the related conceptions,the theoretical basis, the types, the main feature of advantages and the development history; The fourth, the fifth, and the sixth part are the key chapters of the study:the fourth part discusses the current shocks on the adult higher education brought by video open class、the development performance of the adult higher education promoted by video open classes; the fifth part mainly explore the existing issues in the process of the development promoted by video open classes, the sixth part come up with the corresponding solutions aims at the existing problems.
