A calendar history curriculum reform has already been launched, the historical core basic education training objectives, is by instilling knowledge of history to cultivate student understanding of history and historical consciousness. The cultivation of critical thinking, is an important content of history education reform in the new era, is an important link to improve cognitive ability and historical consciousness level students of history. Critical thinking is a thinking type, its purpose is to advocate a kind of not credulous, should not blindly follow the spirit of rational criticism, adhere to independent thinking, which is to promote students’ all-round and free development has an important role. The cultivation.of this ability, has accumulated a wealth of experience in European and American history education in developed countries, while in China has just started.Therefore, this article mainly from the theoretical level and the teaching of history in the cultivation of critical thinking for some important concepts, such as critical thinking, civic education, the center for students, from the practice is mainly the analysis of the high school history teaching practice of the cultivation of critical thinking, and critical thinking from the perspective of the case teaching modern history high school, and put forward relevant strategy to develop critical thinking, hope in the senior high school history teaching in order to achieve critical thinking practice better.The conclusion points out that critical thinking is not only a cognitive skills, but also is a way of life, to keep a natural link with the past and reality, students use it to reflect on the history, look at the real life, and to make reasonable decision. So, in order to meet the need of the times and social development in the new period, the high school history teaching should advocate and cultivate students’ critical thinking, and promote the development of students’ comprehensive and free.
