Kindergarten regional activity grows up under the soil of western culture, which focus on promoting the development of children’s freedom, democracy and individual personalities. It has been more than20years since it first introduced to China in1990s, where takes collective teaching as the main teaching form. Nowadays, its development is worth paying attention to and thinking. Since kindergarten regional activity is deeply influenced by western culture, which makes the western children more freedom, democracy and develop more of their individual personalities, but how to make full use of it still confuses many Chinese kindergartners.Firstly, this thesis uses the methodology of literature to illustrate the origin and historical development of western regional activity. Secondly, two typical kindergartens of Guilin are taken as examples to undergo half a year’s investigate and survey under the guidance of participatory observation. All the data are collected and documented in the form of photos, records and tapes. In addition, two headmasters of kindergartens, six kindergartners in junior, medium and senior classes and some other people are interviewed to state their thoughts. Finally, typical examples are chosen to explain current situation between China and western countries and find out their differences.The study found that the differences of Regional Activity between the Chinese and western children mainly lie in following four aspects:(1) The differences in self-driven (2) The differences in freedom (3) The differences under the guidance of teachers (4) Individual differences.The fundamental cause of these differences deals to following factors:(1) The different values between Chinese and western children (2) Diversities of national personalities between Chinese and Westerners (3) Different thinking patterns between Chinese and Westerners (4) Different aesthetic tastes.Based on the analysis of current situation on the development of children’s regional activities between China and western countries, the following four aspects need to be improved:(1) Values of kindergartners should be consciously changed in order to promote the development of children (2) The influence of national personalities should be got over to suit way of guidance.(3) Kindergartners need to transform their thinking patterns to give children more freedom (4) Kindergartners must change their aesthetic to promote individual development.By the end of this thesis, philosophical thinking mode is used to see kindergarten regional activity dialectically and analyze the reasons why we need kindergarten regional activity in China and forecast the development trend of regional activities.
