Junior high school entrance examination and high school admissions policy are an important stage of basic education policy,which is a matter of whether the junior high school students can reach the graduate standards, and the key policy of high school admissions. This paper selects the national policy context in Anhui Province in the exam and high school admissions policy as a case study, the time period of which is from1980to2013. The main research refers to1980s,1990s and the new century, especially after the implementation of the new curriculum reform examination and high school admissions policy documents. Then analyze the contents and features of exams in Anhui Province in order to find problems and suggest improvements.This paper firstly introduces the research background and significance, the related researches in terms of the test and high school admissions policies, our policies in the examination and high school enrollment reform in recent years. Secondly, the paper uses the methods of the literature, comparative law and case law and other research methods to interpret policies of high school entrance exam in some aspects based on the case of Anhui Province, which is from the examination administration, the test mode, the test subjects and content, the test results presentation and other aspects. Especially discuss the diversity of admission styles including junior high school students’comprehensive quality evaluation, index to the school policy, recommended policies and plus policy. On the basis of studying Anhui case over the years, the paper will compare it with other provinces and cities that have been reformed or have ongoing reforms and try to find the pros and cons of exams in Anhui Province. Thus help improve the policy in this area and other provinces also have meaningful learning and common progress from it. Finally, analyze the problems of the exams in Anhui Province and provide some recommendations in three aspects of junior high school examination, comprehensive evaluations and the diversity of school enrollment forms.
