Mengla County in Xishuangbanna States located in the southernmost of Yunnan province, belong to the minority County where26minority nationalities to produce this work,70%per cent of the population proportion of ethnic minority populations. Mainly Dai, Yao, Hani, Yi, Dai is the dominant ethnic group. Recent years, Mengla County development of elementary education in ethnic minority areas have made some achievements, otherwise there are still some problems. The reason, Mengla County, basic education development in ethnic minority areas in addition to historical factors that influence, that is, from a low level of education of the causes, nature of the local geographical conditions, production methods, the traditional mode of cultural, educational and religious culture affects the development of basic education. Education development in ethnic minority areas is good or bad, will directly affect the overall quality of local ethnic people, as well as the pace of economic development and social development in the region. Minority areas shall be joint efforts in supporting the national and local development of minority elementary education, minority education gained popularity at the same time the quality of education has improved, to address national education reform and development. Correctly handle the dissemination of excellent relationship between traditional culture and the innovation of education system, adapted to improve better ethnic elementary education.Through the development of recent decades, Mengla County, on the development of basic education in General, some achievements have been made, the main performance extended the popularization of compulsory education, improve school conditions and growth areas such as faculty.
