Beijing is a water resource shortage city of which is becoming a main factor ofrestricting the development of social economy. Along with economic developmentand population increase, the contradiction between supply and demand of waterresources will become more prominent. Facing the shortage of water, on the one handBeijing constantly explores advanced water saving technology and management mode,on the other hand limits and removes some enterprises. Industry is the important partfor national economy, and other industry’s prosperity depends on industry support. Inthe face of the constraints of water resources, how to ensure the sustainabledevelopment of Beijing industrial in the future become the key point in this article.This paper include four parts: firstly this paper elaborates the general situation ofwater resources and analyses the main problems that Beijing existed in water supplyand demand. We analysis and forecast the water supply capacity and demand trend ofindustry,point out that water resources is still the bottleneck factor of Beijing’s socialand economy development after the south-to-north water transfer project.Secondly, using decomposition technique of LMDI to analyze the industrialwater use from1996to2008of Beijing from the industrial sector historical trajectoryand the variation characteristics of water demands, and decomposes the aggregatedchange of water into three factors: output effect, structure effect and technique effect.Result indicates that output effect pulls industrial water use, technique effect which isthe main factor for water consumption decline restrains the industrial water usesignificantly,but water-saving contribution of structure effect is not obvious.Then, analyzes the industrial input-output coefficient of water consumptionbased on the input-output analysis method, points out that indirect water consumptionshould be considered during the water-saving industry structure adjustment,andevaluate the water-using features of industries.Finally, Considering the correlation between industry structural adjustments,thispart analyzes the industry correlation and combined with industry water-usingfeatures to put forward the measures of Beijing’s industry structure optimization.
