Urban Disease Beijing

At present, the urban disease which prevalent in the most of Chinese cities hasnot only hindered the development of these cities and also affected the daily lives ofresidents, and this phenomenon has attracted more and more attention. Beijing as thecapital of China has been the first to bear the impact of urban disease. Based on this,our country has planned to the prevention and control of urban disease. This paperevaluates and classifies the urban disease of Beijing and explores its cause andgovernance path from the macro perspective.This paper reviews the origin and the manifestation of the urban disease ofBeijing city at first, and supposes that the urban disease of Beijing emerges after thereform and opening-up, especially in recent years of accelerating urbanization. Basedon the performance of urban disease, this paper divides the urban disease of Beijinginto six aspects, they are the shortage of natural resources, environmental pollution,traffic congestion, residents living difficulties, public resources and public safety.Secondly, I illustrate the closely linked between urban disease of Beijing and regionaleconomic difference. Thirdly, I construct the index system of urban disease of Beijing,select48indexes for the comprehensive evaluation of2006-2010and compare eachother. Fourthly, I calculate the Nich and Theil entropy coefficient to measure the gapof economic development of2006-2010in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, comparetheir change trends and the evolution of urban disease of Beijing, then I find that thereis certain relationship between the regional economic difference inBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei regionl and urban disease of Beijing. Fifthly, I summarize theideas and experiences of foreign urban diseases treatment and find that narrowing theeconomic gap between regions is the key to governance effectively of urban disease.Sixthly, based on the above analysis, I explore the effective path and measures ofmanage the urban disease of Beijing.
