The Research On Industrial Transformation Of Wuhai City

Because of natural resources are rich, resource-based cities develop with high-speed, and they developed lags behind because of the depletion of resources or they did industrial transformation. So far, the industrial transformation of resource-based cities is still a unresolved problem all of the world. In western industrial countries, resource-based cities did industrial transformation in several decades. There is either successful model like Houston in United States or failure cases such as Baku in Soviet Union. Today, a lot of resource-based cities or areas are always in a difficult industrial transformation in the world. Therefore, the study of the resource-based cities do industrial transformation is many counties urgent requirements.During national "First Five" period, Wuhai City is one of ten coal bases, which was layout by our nation. However, in recent years, because the special formation and developing path of Wuhai City, which was built by mine and developed by coal, there have been typical issues of resource-based cities, such as the imbalance in the industrial structure, the heavier burden on society, the fragile of the ecological environment, and so on. Especially, in recent years, with the coal resource dwindling, the above contradictions and problems become more and more prominent, and it become a major constraint in practicing the scientific developing concept and building a moderately prosperous society in Wuhai City, so industrial transformation is imperative.In this paper, the research method combine quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis and combine theory with practice has been used. Based on the summary about theories and practices of the industrial transformation in resource-based cities all of the world, the author analysis and research deeply in the following issues. First, Based on the summary of the existing research results, the author analysis the concepts of industrial transformation. And both from the theoretical and practical aspects, the author summarized the development and transformation all of the world. What’s more, the author also summarized related research by the national experts who research about Inner Mongolia.Second, from the industrial developing situation and the characteristics of Wuhai City, the author find the leading industries at this stage, and analysis the main problems in Wuhai City. Combine with research about industrial transformation of typical resource-based cities, Wuhai City can learn some experiences in its industrial transformation. On this basis, the author make quantitative analysis of industrial transformation, and finally choice the leading industries in Wuhai City.Finally, the author write the industrial transformation of Wuhai City should follow some principle, and write some recommendations after learning from the successful experiences in domestic and international countries.
